Nepal's stellar bowling performance restrict Netherlands on low score CWCL2

Kushal bhurtel after taking wicket against Netherlands

In the second match of the Cricket World Cup League 2 (CWCL2), Nepal faced off against the Netherlands with redemption on their minds following a defeat to Namibia in their previous outing. Winning the toss, Nepal opted to bowl first, aiming to restrict the Netherlands and mount a successful chase.

Executing their plan effectively, Nepal's bowlers put up a stellar performance, limiting the Netherlands to just 137 runs, all out in 39 overs. Part-time leg spinner Kushal Bhurtel led the charge with an impressive haul of four wickets, supported by Lalit Rajbanshi who claimed two wickets. Additionally, contributions from Sompal Kami and Rohit Paudel, who each picked up a wicket, further bolstered Nepal's bowling effort.

Despite Netherlands' skipper Scott Edwards' resilient knock of 33 runs from 49 balls and Bas de Leede's contribution of 27 runs from 44 balls, the rest of the batting lineup faltered, failing to make significant contributions.

With the target set at 138 runs for victory, Nepal will now look to capitalize on their strong bowling performance and chase down the target to secure a crucial win in the CWCL2 tournament.

As the stage is set for a thrilling contest, Nepal's quest for redemption gains momentum as they aim to bounce back against the Netherlands.
