"It's a shame for the series that he will be missing": Stuart Broad Reflects on Kohli's Absence and England's 'Bazball' Triumph

The absence of Virat Kohli from the ongoing Test series against England has left many fans and experts disappointed, including former England pacer Stuart Broad. Kohli, who initially withdrew from the first two Tests citing personal reasons, later confirmed his absence for the entire series, prompting reflections on the impact of his absence on the series dynamics.

Acknowledging Kohli's significance to the game, Broad expressed his disappointment, stating,

"It's a shame for the series that he will be missing but India have won the last Test. Kohli is such a quality player, his passion, his fire, but obviously personal matters always take precedence. But it gives a great opportunity to young players also. So someone in the Indian batting line-up will stand up at some stage"

India's recent victory in Visakhapatnam, where they secured a convincing 106-run win over England, has further bolstered confidence within the team. Additionally, the potential availability of experienced players like KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja for the upcoming third Test in Rajkot adds further depth to the squad.

Stuart Broad was highly impressed with the way England beat India in the first Test in Hyderabad despite having a first-innings deficit of 190 runs, highlighting the effectiveness of their "Bazball" mentality.

"I love it. The series is one-all (1-1) at the moment, but I think 'Bazball' has proven that it can work in every country. I think Hyderabad's performance is the most impressive performance of the England team. We won in Pakistan 3-0, we played well in New Zealand. So 'Bazball' is a mentality that is driving the game forward," Stuart Broad said.

Broad emphasizes the broader unpredictability of Test cricket, citing recent upsets like West Indies' victory over Australia at The Gabba. Such results underscore the enduring allure of Test cricket and the excitement it brings to fans worldwide.
